Hidden amongst the hills and mountains of the northern kingdom there was a single lake that was the perfect example of nature untamed it was helped greatly by the fact that so few mortals knew its location, that no elf, human or dwarf in little over a decade had set foot here well that was until the rider.
On the night the rider came, the skies above were clear allowing the light of the moon to illuminate the lake and its surrounding land and no matter strong and bitter winds got and no matter how much there aching body wished it, the rider refused to turn back. They were for a reason and it was clear as the stars above that they would give up.
As they drew closer to the lake, the rider leaped off the saddle, as tendrils shot from beneath the icy surface and whilst mid air they pulled forth their sword and as they landed, they struck them down the tendrils forcing them back into the lake.
Only when they was certain the tendrils were gone, did they put away their sword and turn to look back at their horse who had begun kicking at the ground, almost like a child who was about to be scolded by their mother.
“Your suppose to be the perceptive one,” the rider said as they walked over to the horse, which seemed rather taken aback, “well come on why do I think I asked you to come,” The horse then began neighing in converse, “yeah I know that but you didn't have to come.”
The horse snorted at them in disagreement, “you may have a point there,” they said as they let out a sigh, “well just stay here, he would kill me if I let anything happen to you," they unhooked a package from the side of the horse. The horse swished her tail hitting them playfully with it. “Well I know he would do the same to you but... oh alright tell you what if you need I’ll whistle.”
The horse neighed happily, and then started to chew on the grass; as they walked past towards the lake, the rider stopped to ruffle her mane and then set their eyes on the lake in front of them.
