The protagonists in this book are the Pevensie children: Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Even though they have just stumbled into the realm of Narnia, they are quick to protect it from the hands of the White Witch. Peter is fair and just. Even though he is a little bit of a control freak, he always does the right thing. Susan is beautiful and gentle. There is more to her than meets the eye. Edmund is stubborn and does not like to be told what to do. Even though he betrays his siblings and follows the White Witch. he does what is right in the end. Lucy is very kind and faithful. She believes in Narnia even when no one else does. She always does what is right.
The White Witch is nothing but evil. She is a very tall, pale skinned woman. She calls herself the Queen of Narnia, and everybody fears her. She tricks Edmund into thinking that she will make him king, and then captures him. She is very evil and must be killed for Narnia to be free.
The Pevensie children are in a professor’s house. World War II is happening and many children are sent to the countryside. The children are going through the house, discovering many different halls and rooms. Lucy finds a wardrobe in one of the rooms. She goes in, and comes out in another world. There she meets a Faun named Mr. Tumnus. She has tea with him at his house. she comes back and tells her siblings. None of them believe her. That is, until they discover it for themselves.
Lucy then goes into Narnia a second time. Edmund follows her. In Narnia, he meets a woman. She is the Queen of Narnia. She tells him that she will make him king if she gets to meet his siblings. He agrees, and goes back to the wardrobe.
At the house, a tour is happening. The children don’t want to be seen, so they hide on the wardrobe. This time, they all enter Narnia and realize Lucy was telling the truth.
The other children ask Lucy where they should go. Lucy suggests Mr. Tumnus’ house, so they walk there. His door has been broken down. There is a piece of paper on the floor. Mr. Tumnus has been arrested by the White Witch! What will they do?
As they are trying to figure out what to do, the siblings see a bird hopping from tree to tree. Something tells them to follow it. Then it fly’s away. They were about to turn back when they saw a beaver. It talked to them! It told them to follow him to his house. They follow him, and go into his house right beside his dam. They have supper there, and the beaver and his wife tell them about the...
