Adults are always asking young children what they want to be when they grow up. The answers toddlers give are usually something along the lines of secret agent, astronaut, and superhero. As they become a bit more mature, so do their responses. They now want to be firefighters, lawyers, scientists. By the time they are old enough to have a grasp on the real world, they realize that these things are not possible, at least not without proper extensive education; their spirits are crushed. There is only one set thing that I want to be when I grow up; I want to be happy.

Many freshmen think that their grades will not matter, which is not the case; freshman year is just as important as senior year. It is also said “I’s great to have a 4.0, but you want to present a well-rounded package in your application”, and “The key is getting the schools themselves to show interest”. This means to do something that will catch the attention of colleges. This can be anything from competing in a sport, to starting a fundraiser. The more you are involved with something, the more a college will want you to come to their school.

College tuition is one of the main factors that influence people not to go, or settle for less than what they hoped for. They should not be discouraged though.
